Sitcom Essay Part One

Television Sitcom has changed in a number of ways…Form, Audience,Representation.

In the olden days, Sitcom used to use alot of slapstick humour to impress the audience. They usually had canned laughter, catch phrases. Since then the idea of sitcom  has differed signifficantly. Now it is more formulaic. People got bored of the old sitcom because they were all so similar, all the jokes were made about the same things including race etc

A Response To Flight Of The Conchords

Personally I think the sitcom wasnt that funny due to me not fully understanding most of the jokes made. I also think that this show wasn’t targeted at teenagers I believe it was made for a slightly older audience as the humour used and the people in it were older. I did, however, like the use of musical humour throughout the show, it was very funny and had me laughing alot. The show was about two peoples lives (almost like a diary) and them dealing with the rascist ways of America.

I also usually prefer less documentary style television and this show was very realistic and showed lsot of the bad sides of America. I liked how they took real life situations that are happening in this day and age and made it entertaining.

Overall I think ‘The Flight Of The Conchords’ was a very entertaining and enjoyable show. =]
